大塚 雅子, ピアニスト
Masako Otsuka started playing the piano in her parents' music school when she was three years old. Later she studied at the Kobe College, School of Music where she received her diploma as a performing musician and music teacher 1993. She started to work as a teacher, but also performed as a solo artist. She participated in the Sommerakademien in Salzburg (1995) and in Sion (1996) to further improve her skills.
In 1997 she started studying at the “Konservatorium Zürich / Winterthur” (nowadays "Zurich University of the Arts") with Christoph Lieske and Gitti Pirner supported by the Rotary International Foundation. During this period she also studied chamber music with Ulrich Koella and Matthias Enderle of the Carmina Quartett. In 2000 she obtained her diploma as a Performing Musician. Since then she has given concerts in Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands and Japan.
Masako currently works as a piano teacher, among others until 2005 at the University of Kobe (Japan) and performs as a solo pianist and plays chamber music.
Since 2005 Masako lives in Joure, The Netherlands (1.5 h drive from Amsterdam) and works as a self-employed piano teacher and performing artist.
